Anti-Ragging Policy

DON’T RAG, BUT INTERACT!

"Ragging refers to any act of disorderly conduct—whether verbal or physical—that involves teasing, mistreating, or handling a junior student with rudeness. This includes engaging in rowdy or undisciplined activities that cause embarrassment, psychological harm, or hardship to the student, creating a sense of shame and adversely affecting their mental well-being."

At DHU University, our campus is a space designed for students to build lifelong friendships and create lasting memories. We stand firm in our commitment to ensuring that no student faces ragging or any form of harassment. Our aim is to provide a safe, inclusive environment for all students to thrive and grow.

1. Anti-Ragging Declaration:

All students are required to sign an anti-ragging declaration at the time of admission, ensuring their commitment to maintaining a ragging-free environment.

2. Awareness and Information:

  • Posters and billboards with anti-ragging messages are displayed in high-traffic areas such as building foyers, common rooms, mess halls, libraries, and labs.
  • Regular announcements are made during orientation and opening ceremonies to educate students about the importance of staying away from ragging.

3. Security Measures:

  • Mobile patrols with security personnel regularly monitor the campus to prevent any incidents of ragging.
  • Contact numbers of key university officials are provided to students for reporting any ragging attempts.
  • Anonymous suggestion and complaint boxes are placed in strategic locations to encourage students to report issues without revealing their identity.

4. Dedicated Anti-Ragging Squad & Committee:

Our Anti-Ragging Squad and Committee play an active role in monitoring the campus, ensuring that no ragging activities take place.

5. Faculty Vigilance:

All faculty members are vigilant in ensuring that classes are conducted on time, with no opportunity for ragging to occur due to late starts or early dismissals.

6. Promoting Healthy Interactions:

We foster healthy senior-junior relationships by promoting cultural, sports, and recreational activities that encourage positive interaction and camaraderie.

7. Surprise Checks & Proactive Surveillance:

  • Surprise checks are carried out at various hours, especially in hostels, to prevent any ragging activities.
  • Proactive measures are taken during events like welcome parties to ensure that no untoward incidents occur.

8. Hostel Accommodation for Freshers:

Freshers are typically assigned rooms in separate wings or floors, ensuring they are not isolated or subjected to ragging by seniors in the early stages of their university life.
